Change to Improper Venue Procedures

Effective immediately for those cases filed in the Sioux City, Fort Dodge and Mason City divisions, the court, on its own motion, will examine the venue of cases filed in the Northern District of Iowa if the District appears to be an improper venue. If, after notice and hearing, the venue is found to be improper, the court may dismiss the case or transfer it to a proper venue. See the Letter from the Clerk for full details.

Redaction Requirements

Federal Rule of Bankruptcy Procedure 9037 clearly establishes the privacy protection requirements for filings made with the court. Subparagraph (a) defines the redaction requirements for personal identifying information captured in such filings. See the Letter from the Clerk for a reminder of the types of information/identifiers that must be redacted by counsel, parties, and others who make filings with the court.
