New Clerk of Court

As you know, in August 2017, the Bankruptcy Clerk’s Offices for the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa entered into a three-year Horizontal Consolidation Pilot Project.  During this project, the Clerk of Court was appointed to serve in the Bankruptcy Courts for both the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa.

The Participating Courts have elected to discontinue the Horizontal Consolidation Pilot Project. The current shared Clerk of Court maintains a duty station in the Southern District of Iowa and will continue as the Southern District of Iowa’s Bankruptcy Clerk of Court.

We are pleased to announce that Sharon K. Mullin has been appointed as the Bankruptcy Clerk of Court for the Northern District of Iowa, effective September 14, 2020.  Sharon has worked in the Clerk’s Office for over 16 years. Most recently, she served as this Clerk Office’s Chief Deputy and prior to that, as its Financial Administrator.

New Public Website

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Iowa will publish a new public website on Tuesday, September 15, 2020.   Access to the new website may be intermittent on Tuesday as we complete the rollout. The URL (www.ianb.uscourts.gov) remains unchanged.

The landing page of the new website looks similar but the information within the website has been reformatted and enhanced to provide more information for users. Dig in and explore! One notable change is the Court calendar.  The new calendar pulls its data directly from CM/ECF.  Based on selection criteria, the user can view either the 341 Meeting Calendar or the Judge’s Calendar.  Instructions are provided on the calendar page to assist with the selection criteria.  As always, reach out to the Clerk’s Office if you have questions or cannot easily locate information. Constructive comments and suggestions are welcome!

This website change will not impact CM/ECF.

Thank you.
